Das 55kDa-Genprodukt der frühen Transkriptionseinheit 1B (E1B-55kDa) von Adenovirus Typ 5 ist ein multifunktioneller Regulator der Zellzyklus-unabhängigen adenoviralen Replikation. The human subgroup C adenoviral E1B-55kDa protein is a multifunctional regulator of cell cycle-independent adenovirus replication that controls several processes, including proteolytic degradation of the tumor suppressor protein p53, selective viral late mRNA transport to the cytoplasm, and shut-off of host cell protein synthesis.
