Doublecortin/DCX ist ein X-chromosomal kodiertes Protein, das während der Embryonalentwicklung des zentralen Nervensystems und während adulter Neurogenese in Säugetieren spezifisch in neuronalen Vorläuferzellen exprimiert wird. Translation of the abstract (English)

Doublecortin/DCX is encoded on the X-chromosome and specifically expressed in neuronal precursors of the developing and adult mammalian central nervous system. Doublecortin protein is only transiently expressed in neuronal precursor cells, but absent in stem cells and in adult neurons.
