Abstract

We present an experimental realization of a voltage-switchable in-plane Bragg reflector for planar waveguides. The device is based on the quantum confined Stark effect induced by an interdigitated gate in a multi-quantum well that is located in the core of the planar waveguide. Aspects of the sample preparation and room-temperature measurements are discussed.
