Phototropine (Phot-Proteine) fungieren als Photorezeptoren und bestehen aus zwei Flavinmo-nonukleotid (FMN)-bindenden LOV (light, oxygen, voltage)-Domänen und einer Serin/Threonin-Kinasedomäne. Nach Absorption von Licht durchlaufen LOV-Domänen einen Photozyklus, in dem ein kovalentes Photoaddukt aus dem Chromophor FMN und der Aminosäure Cystein 57 gebildet wird. Translation of the abstract (English)

Hototropins (phot) act as photoreceptors and consist of two flavin mononucleotide (FMN)-binding LOV (light, oxygen, voltage) domains and a serine/threonine kinase domain. Upon light absorption, LOV domains undergo a photocycle: A covalent photoadduct of the chromophore FMN and cysteine 57 is formed.
