Abstract (German)

Trotz erfolgreicher lumbaler Diskektomie aufgrund eines Bandscheibenvorfalls können persistierende Rückenschmerzen wiederkehren in Form eines Postdiskotomiesyndroms.
Eine sonographische Untersuchung von 58 Patienten mit Postdiskotomiesyndrom mittels eines multidirektionalen Ultraschallaufnahmeverfahrens zeigte keine signifikante Korrelation zwischen muskulärer Narbenausprägung im Bereich des M. multifidus und der klinischen Beschwerdesymptomatik.
Lediglich eine Subgruppe mit früh-positivem Lasegue-Zeichen unter 30° wies eine größere Muskelnarbe auf als die Vergleichsgruppe mit einem positiven Lasegue-Zeichen über 30°.

Translation of the abstract (English)

Though successful lumbar discectomie because of disc herniation persisting back pain may return as the so called failed back surgery syndrome.
A sonographic examination of 58 patients with failed back surgery syndrome by a compounding system of sonography shows that there is no significant correlation between the muscle scar of the M. multifidus and the clinic symtoms.
Only a sub group with an early positive Lasegue test under 30° reveal a greater scar formation than the group with a positive Lasegue test over 30°.
