Flavonoids as chemotaxonomic markers in the polymorphic Stachys swainsonii (Lamiaceae)

Zusammenfassung

The flavonoid compn. was investigated of all subspecific taxa of Stachys swainsonii (Lamiaceae). Intraspecific variability was examd. by processing more than one population per taxon. The flavonoid content of the closely related subspecies of S. swainsonii shows many similarities. S. argolica produces constituents not found in the other subspecies. Flavonoids of S. argolica are discussed to serve as useful chemotaxonomic markers.
