Abstract

cis-PtCl2(AS)2complexes (AS = amino acid or its ester) were tested using the mammary tumor cell line MDA-MB 231 and a cell suspension of the ADJ/PC6 plasmacytoma. Only the esters cis-PtCl2(GlyOBu)2 [82474-53-1] and cis-PtCl2(GlyO-tert-Bu)2 (I) [82474-54-2] inhibited the incorporation of [3H]thymidine, whereas the free acids were ineffective. In contrast to the results of the in vitro assays, I did not influence tumor growth of the ADJ/PC6 plasmacytoma in vivo.
