Abstract
Z-1-(4-Hydroxyphenyl)-1-(4- or 3-pyridyl)-2-phenylbut-1-enes and their acetates are weak estrogens (uterine wt. test, immature mouse), which cause a marked tumor growth inhibition on the hormone-dependent MXT mammary carcinoma of the mouse. Slight estrogenic side effects detd. by uterine wt. were detectable in this tumor expt.
