Abstract
The title indene I was prepd. by cyclization of hexanediol II. I has a marked affinity to the cytoplasmic estrogen receptor and only weak uterotrophic, but antiuterotrophic properties in the mouse uterine wt. bioassay. I inhibits the growth of the DMBA-induced, hormone-dependent mammary carcinoma of the rat.
