Abstract

The thesis investigates quantum phenomena beyond the Gross-Pitaevskii equation. Therefore we apply the Bogoliubov approach which results in an infinite number of coupled equations for which we developed a special truncation scheme. We also present numerical results for the transport of a Bose Einstein condensate through a quasi one-dimensional wave guide with scattering potentials.
