Abstract

A particulate enzyme preparation, isolated fromin vitro cultivatedLilium testaceum bulbs, was shown to catalyse the biosynthesis of a water-soluble β-1,4-glucomannan with aMr of 20 000. GDP[14C] mannose and GDP[14C] glucose were used as substrates for glucomannan biosynthesis.
