Abstract (German)

In der vorliegenden Arbeit wurden Kinder- und Jugendliche mit einer Krebserkrankung oder Diabetes Mellitus gemeinsam mit ihren Eltern hinsichtlich ihrer Autonomieansprüche und ihrer Fähigkeit zur eigenen Entscheidung als Patient untersucht. Dies erfolgte zum einen mittels eines selbst entwickelten strukturierten Interviews (Kinderonkologie), zum anderen mittels eines selbstentwickelten schriftlichen Fragebogens (Diabetesambulanz).

Translation of the abstract (English)

In the present study, the demands for patient autonomy expressed by children and adolescents diagnosed of cancer or diabetes mellitus, together with those of their parents, were examined. Decision-making skills were also assessed in these patients. In the group of children and adolescents diagnosed of cancer, a structured interview was performed, whereas in those diagnosed of diabetes mellitus data were collected from a written questionnaire.
