Abstract

A review. Research on nonaq. microemulsions contg. ionic liqs. as polar and/or apolar phase, resp., is growing at a fast rate. One key property of ionic liqs. that highlights their potential and their diversification compared to water is their wide liq. temp. range. In this emerging-area review article we survey recent developments in the field of nonaq. micellar solns. and microemulsions contg. ionic liqs. in general with a strong emphasis on the effect of temp. in particular. Various systems are discussed and compared to their aq. counterparts.
