Abstract

We show in this paper that three ways of characterizing "spontaneous" lateral packing of amphiphiles are equiv.: the spontaneous curvature, the mol. packing parameter, and the refined hydrophilic-lipophilic balance known as HLD (hydrophilic-lipophilic deviation).
