Abstract

Small-angle neutron scattering expts. coupled with hypernetted chain calcns. are powerful techniques to obtain reliable information about the structure of solns. of all kinds of relatively large mols. The results of the expts. can then be described in terms of solvent averaged radial distribution functions. Cryptated potassium ions can come into close contact whereas cryptated barium ions repel each other due to the dominant Coulomb interactions.
