Abstract

Data for the cond., κ, of selected binary mixts. of the ionic liqs. [emim][BF4], [bmim][BF4], [bmim][PF6], [bmim][DCA], and [hmim][BF4] with polar solvents (water, propylene carbonate, DMSO, methanol, dichloromethane) at 25 °C are reported. Addnl., mixt. densities, ρ, were detd. to convert κ into molar cond., Λ. The obtained results were fitted by appropriate interpolation formulas. Where possible, data were compared with information from the literature. Electrode polarization and sample purity, including [BF-4] hydrolysis, were considered as possible sources of errors in κ. The effect of viscosity on the accuracy of ρ and thus Λ was checked and considered as negligible.
