Abstract

A review with refs; since our first review on dielec. relaxation in solns.(authors, 1994) a no. of important advances have opened new areas of research and allow us to tackle old problems which hitherto withstood a satisfactory interpretation. The progress in theory, simulation methods, and exptl. techniques increasingly allows one to link the results of dielec. studies to information on structure and dynamics of liqs. and solns. inferred from other techniques;it is hoped that this review reflects to some extent these exciting and significant developments. Our contribution focuses on homogeneous liqs. around ambient conditions of temp. and pressure, such as solns. of non-electrolytes and electrolytes, the pure solvents, and mixts.
