Abstract

Domino coupling products of haloarenes and norbornene as well as dicyclopentadiene can be converted to polycyclic aromatic compounds like benzo[e]pyrene (3), benzo[e]cyclopenta[I]pyrene (4), 7-phenyl-1H-cyclopenta[I]phenanthrene (10) and 1H-cyclopenta[f][3,8]phenanthroline (16).
