Abstract

Scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy (STM/STS) were applied to study the nanostructural and nanoelectronic properties of ultrathin magnetic films, from individual adatoms and clusters (zero- dimensional systems) to three-dimensional bulklike islands.
