Abstract (German)

Durch gaschromatographische (GC) Untersuchung ätherischer Öle an Kapillarsäulen kann eine deutliche Verbesserung der Identitäts- und Reinheitsbeurteilung im Zuge der Arzneibuchuntersuchungen erreicht werden. Dies wird am Beispiel von bitterem und süßem Fenchelöl, Kiefernnadelöl und Salbeiöl dargestellt. Verfälschte ätherische Öle, Minderqualitäten, aber auch Verwechslungen können auf diese Weise wesentlich leichter erkannt werden als mit konventionellen analytischen Methoden wie Dünnschichtchromatographie (DC) oder der Bestimmung physikalischer Kennzahlen.
Eine weitere Verbesserung kann bei den ätherischen Ölen aus Lavendelblüten, Bitterorangenblüten und Koriandersamen durch die Untersuchung der Enantiomerenverhältnisse chiraler Inhaltsstoffe, wie z. B. Linalool und Linalylacetat, mit GC an modifizierten Cyclodextrinen erzielt werden.

Translation of the abstract (English)

The tests on identity and quality in pharmacopoeias for essential oils are enormously improved by gaschromatographic (GC) investigations on capillary columns.This is demonstrated on bitter and sweet fennel oil, pine needle oil and sage oil. Adulterated essential oils, minor qualities and mistakes in declarations can be detected much more easily than by conventional methods like thin layer chromatography (TLC) and physical tests.
Examining the essential oils of lavender, bitterorangeflower and coriander seed, a further improvement can be achieved by the determination of the ratio of enantiomers of chiral components, for example linalool and linalyl acetate, by GC on modified cyclodextrines.
