Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wurden die Zellanhänge von Ignicoccus hospitalis, die sogenannten Fibers, näher charakterisiert. Dabei konnte gezeigt werden, dass die Fibers Ähnlichkeiten zu bakteriellen Typ IV Pili aufweisen. In this work the cell appendages of Ignicoccus hospitalis, the so called fibers, were analysed. It could be shown that the fibers exhibit resemblance to type IV pili of bacteria.
