A number of novel chiral, pentadentate bis(oxazoline)-pyridine-ligands and the corresponding metal complexes were synthesized. Abstract (English)

A number of novel chiral, pentadentate bis(oxazoline)-pyridine-ligands and the corresponding metal complexes were synthesized. Especially the mononuclear complexes of late transition metals (Mn-Zn) were analyzed with respect to their structures in the solid and the solution state by e.g. NMR-, UV- and CD-spectroscopy. Complex formation proved to be highly diastereoselective in almost every case with regard to the configuration at the stereogenic metal center. A number of coordination geometries could be observed, e.g. trigonal-bipyramidal, octahedral and pentagonal-bipyramidal. On the basis of CD-spectroscopy it was possible to establish a predictive model for both coordination geometry and absolute configuration at the metal center of unknown metal complexes in solution. Besides the mononuclear complexes, polynuclear cadmium-compounds could be characterized in the solid state, constituting one of the first examples of one-dimensional, homochiral helices with exclusively bridging halogens (Cl, Br).

Eine Reihe von neuen chiralen, fünzähnigen Bisoxazolin-Pyridin-Liganden und deren Metallkomplexe wurden synthetisiert. Im Speziellen die mononuklearen Komplexe von späten Übergangsmetallen (Mn-Zn) wurden hinsichtlich ihrer Struktur im Festkörper und in Lösung mit z.B. NMR-, UV- und CD-Spektroskopie untersucht. Die Komplexbildung verläuft dabei in nahezu allen Fällen hoch diastereoselektiv im Bezug auf die Konfiguration am stereogenen Metallzentrum. Eine Vielzahl von Koordinationsgeometrien konnten beobachtet werden, z.B. trigonal-bipyramidal, oktaedrisch und pentagonal-bipyramidal. Mittels CD-Spektroskopie war es möglich, ein Modell für die Vorhersage von sowohl Koordinatiosgeometrie, als auch absoluter Konfiguration am Metallzentrum von unbekannten Komplexen in Lösung zu erstellen. Neben mononuklearen Komplexen konnten auch polynukleare Cadmium-Verbindungen im Festkörper charakterisiert werden, die eines der ersten Beispiele für eindimensionale, homochirale Helices mit ausschliesslich verbrückenden Halogenid-Ionen (Cl, Br) darstellen.
