Untersuchungen mit Hilfe der Matrixisolationsspektroskopie ermöglichen den Nachweis instabiler oder kurzlebiger Intermediate. Es wurden drei verschiedene Substanzen mit Hilfe spektroskopischer Methoden in Edelgasmatrizen und in Lösung untersucht. Im ersten Teil der Arbeit wurden tert-Butylnitrit und tert-Butylthionitrit betrachtet. Beide Verbindungen gehen bei Belichtung eine Photofragmentierung unter Abspaltung von NO ein, bei der in Edelgasmatrizen eine cis-trans-Isomerisierung als Konkurrenzprozess zum Zerfall vermutet wird. Im Falle des tert-Butylnitrits widersprachen die UV-Spektren zunächst dieser Annahme, da dort keine Veränderung in der Bandenform beobachtet werden konnte, die bei einer cis-trans-Umlagerung zu erwarten ist. Zur weiteren Klärung dieser Vermutung wurde zunächst eine Matrixisolationsapparatur konstruiert, mit der UV/Vis- und IR-Spektren an ein und derselben belichteten Matrix aufgenommen werden können. Dabei wurde die Frage nach dem UV-Spektrum der cis-Form mit Hilfe einer kinetischen Analyse der ablaufenden Reaktion und Zuhilfenahme der Singulärwertzerlegung weiter untersucht. Als Endprodukte dieser Photoreaktion entstehen in Edelgasmatrizen Nitrosomethan und Aceton. Auch die Photochemie des tert-Butylthionitrits wurde in dieser Arbeit mittels IR- und UV/Vis-Spektroskopie untersucht. Hier wurde auch in den UV-Spektren eine Veränderung aufgrund einer cis-trans-Umlagerung beobachtet. Im Gegensatz zum tert-Butylnitrit liegt beim entsprechenden Thionitrit die cis-Form bereits bei Raumtemperatur vor. Als Endprodukte entstehen hier NO und tert-Buthiylradikale, die keine weitere Folgefragmentierung eingehen. Beide Moleküle wurden auch hinsichtlich ihrer Photochemie in n-Hexan untersucht.
Der zweite Teil dieser Arbeit widmet sich der spektroskopischen Untersuchung der Photodissoziation von 2,3-Diazabicyclo[2.2.1]hept-2-en (DBH). Das Molekül zerfällt bei UV-Belichtung in Stickstoff und Bicyclopentan. Es wird vermutet, dass der Zerfall nicht konzertiert, sondern durch schrittweisen Bruch der C-N-Bindungen über die Bildung zweier Biradikale erfolgt. Das erste Biradikal, ein Diazenylbiradikal, wurde bisher nur indirekt nachgewiesen. Der Nachweis des zweiten Biradikals, das 1,3-Cyclopentadiylradikal, mittels ESR-Spektroskopie wurde in der Literatur berichtet. Jedoch konnte dieses Radikal nicht mittels anderer spektroskopischer Verfahren direkt nachgewiesen werden. Es sollte der Versuch unternommen werden, diese Biradikale in Neonmatrizen während gleichzeitiger UV-Belichtung mittels IR-Spektroskopie nachzuweisen. Auch in dieser Arbeit konnten die Biradikale nicht detektiert werden. Daraufhin wurde versucht, die Biradikale mit NO in der Matrix abzufangen. Dazu wurde in einer Modellreaktion zunächst gezeigt, dass Alkylradikale in der Matrix mit NO abgefangen werden können. Im Falle des DBHs konnten jedoch keine Abfangprodukte registriert werden.

Translation of the abstract (English)

The matrix isolation spectroscopy allows to study instable species. The photochemical reactions of three different substances in nobel gas matrices and in solution were investigated by spectroscopic methods. The first part deals with tert-butyl nitrite and tert-butyl thionitrite. Both molecules are dissociating after excitation under production of NO. In noble gas matrices a cis-trans-conversion is assumed to be a competing process to the dissociation. In the case of tert-butyl nitrite, no changes in the shape of the absorption bands are observed, as they are expected for a cis-trans-conversion. For further studies a new matrix isolation apparatus was built which allows to detect UV/Vis- and IR-spectra at one exposed matrix. Analysing the kinetics of the reaction and combination with the method of singular value decomposition reveals further information about the UV-spectra of the cis-tert-butyl nitrite. Acetone and nitrosomethane are the final products of the photolysis of tert-butyl nitrite in noble gas matrices. The photochemistry of tert-butyl thionitrite was also studied by UV/Vis- and IR-spectroscopy. In this case, a change due to the cis-trans-conversion was observed in the vibrational spectra as well as in the electronic spectra. In contrast to tert-butyl nitrite the cis-tert-butyl thionitrite even exists at room temerature. Here, the final products are NO and tert-buthiyl radicals without further fragmentations. The photoreactions of both molecules were also studied in a solution of n-hexane.

The second part deals with the spectroscopic investigation of the photodissociation of 2,3-diazabicyclo[2.2.1]hept-2-ene (DBH). After UV-irradiation the molecule dissociates in nitrogen and bicyclopentane. It is recommended that the fragmentation is a stepwise process under formation of two different biradicals. The first one, a diazenyl biradical, is yet probed just in an oblique way. The verification of the second one, the 1,3-cyclopendiyl radical, by EPR-spectroscopy was reported in the literature. Though this radical could not directly been detected by other spectroscopic methods. As a new approach the vibrational spectra of DBH were registered during UV-irradiation in neon matrices. Equal to former investigations it was not possible to detect the biradicals. Hence we tried to trap the biradicals in the matrix with NO. A model reaction showed that it is possible to trap alkyl radicals in a matrix with NO. But in the case of DBH, no trapping products were registered.
