The spectral and kinetic characteristics of the complex Pt(thpy)2 (thpy− is the doubly protonated form of 2-(2-thienyl)pyridine) in solid and liquid solutions are studied. It is found that this compound phosphoresces intensively in the temperature range 4.2–293 K.
