Abstract

The impurity induced band mode absorption of CsI:Li+, Na+, Rb+, Tl+ has been studied in the far infrared and compared with the calculated density of phonon states of CsI. CsI:Tl+ yields a resonant mode at 14.1 cm−1 (5.6°K), the temperature dependence of which has been studied.
