1-(Dimethylamino)-2,3,3-triphenylprop-1-enes: synthesis and affinity with estradiol receptor

Abstract

Title compds. (I) (R, R1, R2 = H, MeO; E-2 isomer mixts. where applicable) were prepd. from 4-RC6H4COCH2C6H4R1-4 (R, R1 = H, H; MeO, H; H, MeO; MeO, MeO) via Mannich reaction, Grignard reaction with 4-R2C6H4Br, and dehydration, and were <1/10 as effective as estradiol receptors as (4-HOC6H4)2C:CEtPh.
