Abstract
Stereoisomeric [1,2-bis(3-hydroxyphenyl)ethylenediamine]platinum(II) complexes produce a strong configuration-dependent inhibition of the hormone sensitive MXT-mammary carcinoma of the mouse. Besides an interference in DNA synthesis analogous to that of cisplatin, an estrogen level lowering effect is responsible for its antitumor activity. The new complexes also show a significant activity on the hormone-independent MXT-mammary carcinoma of the mouse.
