Abstract
A review with 30 refs. The characterization of small and weakly charged ions in liqs. remains in the center of interest of numerous research programs. In the present paper the authors summarize the complexity of the problem and show some recent progress both in the field of theor. description and of exptl. characterization of electrolytes. Some examples highlight the importance of a proper description of electrolyte properties for future technol.
