Wir beschreiben eine Designstudie für ein virtuelles Bücherregal, das wesentliche Merkmale der Interaktion mit Büchern als physischen Artefakten ins digitale Medium transportieren soll. Dabei steht das Aufgreifen der konkreten visuellen Anordnung von Büchern im Mittelpunkt. Das virtual bookshelf soll das Personal Information Management (PIM) verbessern helfen.
We describe a design prototype for a virtual bookshelf which transfers characteristics of the interaction with books as physical artifacts into the digital medium. We focus on the actual visual presentation and arrangement of books. The virtual bookshelf is intended as a tool for advancing Personal Information Management (PIM).
