Abstract (German)
Im Rahmen der vorliegenden Arbeit wurde mit [Cu(dap)2Cl] (dap = 2,9-Bis-(4-methoxy-phenyl)-1,10-phenanthrolin) eine Alternative zu etablierten Photoredoxkatalysatoren und Photosensitizern wie [Ru(BiPy)3]Cl2 (BiPy = 2,2‘-Bipyridin) und zu verwandten, auf Iridium basierenden Komplexen untersucht. Der erstmals 1987 von Sauvage et al. beschriebene Komplex [Cu(dap)2Cl] weist im UV-Spektrum starke Absorption zwischen 400 und 600 nm, eine Lebenszeit des angeregten Zustandes von 270 ns, sowie ein Redoxpotential von -1.43 V für den Übergang Cu(I)* / Cu(II) auf und liegt damit im Bereich der Vergleichswerte oben genannter Ruthenium- und Iridiumkomplexe.
Als Testreaktion für die Eignung von [Cu(dap)2Cl] als Photoredoxkatalysator wurde die Atom Transfer Radical Addition ATRA gewählt. Dabei zeigt sich, dass sich bereits mit Katalysatorbeladungen von 0.3 – 1 mol% bei Verwendung von LEDs mit der Wellenlänge 530 nm oder der Sonne als Lichtquelle sehr gute Ausbeuten erzielen lassen. Verschiedene Olefine sowie unterschiedlich stark aktivierte C-X Verbindungen können unter diesen Bedingungen zu den entsprechenden ATRA-Produkten umgesetzt werden. Weiterhin konnte eine photochemische zweistufige Ein-Topf-Reaktion aus Allylierung und ATRA-Reaktion erfolgreich aufgestellt werden. Auch weitere, bereits literaturbekannte Transformationen können mit [Cu(dap)2Cl] an Stelle von [Ru(BiPy)3]Cl2 durchgeführt werden.
Als Testreaktion für die Eignung von [Cu(dap)2Cl] als Photosensitizer wurde die Bildung von Singulettsauerstoff gewählt. Durch Messung der charakteristischen Phosphoreszenz bei 1270 nm konnte die Produktion von Singulettsauerstoff nachgewiesen werden. Der durch Bestrahlung von [Cu(dap)2Cl] erhaltene Singulettsauerstoff kann als Dienophil in klassischen [4+2] Diels Alder Cycloadditionen verwendet werden. Weiterhin kann auch die [2+2] Cycloaddition an elektronenreiche Enamide und Enolether erfolgen, die nach [2+2] Cycloreversion die Spaltungsprodukte der Doppelbindungen ergibt. Sowohl vorgebildete als auch in-situ erzeugte Enamide können in der Reaktion verwendet werden. Auch die beta-Alkylierung der Enamide ist möglich und kann als Ein-Topf-Reaktion mit der Enamidspaltung durchgeführt werden.

Within this work, [Cu(dap)2Cl] (dap = 2,9-Bis-(4-methoxy-phenyl)-1,10-phenanthroline) was tested as an operational alternative to well established photoredox catalysts and photosensitizers, such as [Ru(BiPy)3]Cl2 (BiPy = 2,2‘-Bipyridine) or related, iridium based complexes. First described by Sauvage et al. in 1987, [Cu(dap)2Cl] exhibits broad absorption in the UV-spectrum between 400 and 600 nm, a lifetime of 270 ns of the excited state as well as a redox potential of -1.43 V for the redox transition Cu(I)* / Cu(II). These values are in good comparison with the ruthenium- and iridium complexes mentioned before.
As a test-reaction for the applicability of [Cu(dap)2Cl] as photoredox catalyst, we chose the so-called Atom Transfer Radical Addition ATRA. It could be shown, that a catalyst loading of 0.3 – 1 mol% and either LED-irradiation at 530 nm or sunlight irradiation is sufficient to give the ATRA-products in very good yields. Various olefins as well as organohalides with a different degree of activation can be utilized to yield the desired ATRA-products. Also a two-step photochemical sequence, consisting of allylation followed by a ATRA-reaction, can be performed in a one-pot-reaction. Furthermore, a number of photochemical transformation already reported in literature could be performed employing [Cu(dap)2Cl] instead of [Ru(BiPy)3]Cl2.
As a test-reaction for the applicability of [Cu(dap)2Cl] as photosensitizer, we chose the production of singlet oxygen. By measuring its characteristical phosphorescence at 1270 nm, the formation of singlet oxygen could be verified. Singlet oxygen, that was produced by irradiation of [Cu(dap)2Cl], can be used as a dienophile in classical [4+2] Diels Alder cycloadditions. Furthermore, also the [2+2] cycloaddition to electronrich enamides and enolethers is viable, which gives after [2+2] cycloreversion the corresponding oxidative cleavage products of the double bond. Preformed enamides can be used in this reaction as well as in situ generated enamides. Also, beta-alkylation of the enamides is possible and can be conducted in a one-pot-reaction together with the enamide cleavage.
