Within this work, [Cu(dap)2Cl] (dap = 2,9-Bis-(4-methoxy-phenyl)-1,10-phenanthroline) was tested as an operational alternative to well established photoredox catalysts and photosensitizers, such as [Ru(BiPy)3]Cl2 (BiPy = 2,2‘-Bipyridine) or related, iridium based complexes.
