Basophile Granulozyten wurden zunächst als reine Effektorzellpopulation charakterisiert; in dieser Arbeit konnte jedoch gezeigt werden, dass Basophile Granulozyten in vitro in der Lage sind, sowohl die syngene, als auch die Allogen-induzierte Proliferation von CD4+ T-Zellen zu unterdrücken. Translation of the abstract (English)

In this study, we demonstrate that murine basophils are able to inhibit syngeneic and allogeneic proliferation of CD4+ T cells. This effect is independent of Fas and MHC II contact, but dependent on the soluble factors interleukin (IL)-4 and IL-6.
