Interleukin-3 is a hematopoietic and immunomodulatory acting cytokine. In the collagen-induced arthritis (CIA), the mouse model of rheumatoid arthritis, the blocking of interleukin-3 had an anti-inflammatory effect on the early phase of the disease.
