Translation of the abstract (English)

The activity of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone-system (RAAS) regulates the number of renin-producing cells in the kidney by a negative feedback mechanism. In the adult kidney pharmacological inhibition of the RAAS induces a hypertrophy of the typical juxtaglomerular cells and a metaplastic transformation of smooth muscle cells of the afferent arteriole to renin producing cells.
