Abstract (English)

This thesis focusses on a variety of different aspects of the reproductive life cycle in the myrmicine genus Cardiocondyla, deviating from the typical pattern of reproduction in the social Hymenoptera: Cardiocondyla is characterized by intranidal mating involving close sib, and, as a consequence, high inbreeding coefficients and extremely female-biased sex ratios.
