Abstract

Mutations in the RS1 gene cause X-linked juvenile retinoschisis (XLRS), a hereditary retinal dystrophy. We recently showed that retinoschisin, the protein encoded by RS1, regulates ERK signaling and apoptosis in retinal cells.
