The description and delimitation of species, the fundamental units of biodiversity, is one of the main research topics of systematics and taxonomy. Traditionally, species were usually
described based on differences in morphological characters. In the course of the last century, ecological niches, geographical distributions, and the degree of interbreeding
became additional criteria for species delineation. More recently, the availability of genetic marker systems allowed researchers to additionally incorporate the underlying genealogical information. The combination of those sources of evidence for taxonomic studies is called integrative taxonomy and is the foundation of modern species delimitation. The present thesis studies integrative species delimitation of the diploid and tetraploid taxa of the genus Leucanthemum Mill. (Compositae, Anthemideae), a young, hybridizing, and closely-knit polyploid complex. I propose a bioinformatical pipeline, a set of methods, tools, and analyses, comprising the collection and analysis of data, and the joint evaluation of the
observed taxonomical patterns. In the framework of integrative taxonomy, genealogical, ecological, geographical, and morphological evidence is compiled, represented by
restriction associated DNA sequencing (RADseq) data, abiotic niches, distribution areas, and leaf shape, respectively. The first two studies of the thesis describe the implementation
of GINJINN, a deep learning software tool for the automatic detection and extraction of structures from digital images and show its successful application by, among other examples, retrieving leaf silhouettes from herbarium specimens of Leucanthemum. The third study focuses on the integrative species delimitation of the diploid Leucanthemum
taxa based on the previously mentioned four data sources. In this context, novel methods and tools for consensus clustering, reconstructing leaf silhouettes extracted from herbarium specimens, and for approximating distribution areas from sparse collection data are implemented. The integration of the four data sources leads to the down-ranking of three diploid Leucanthemum species to the subspecies level. The last study applies the previously described methodological pipeline to delimit eight tetraploid Leucanthemum taxa and introduces a in this context new clustering method for supporting genealogical species
delimitation, leading to the proposal of a new taxonomic rank for four taxa.

Die Beschreibung und Abgrenzung von Arten, den fundamentalen Einheiten der Biodiversität, ist eines der Hauptforschungsgebiete der Systematik und Taxonomie. Historisch waren Arten üblicherweise basierend auf morphologischen Unterschieden beschrieben worden, während im Laufe des letzten Jahrhunderts ökologische Nischen, geografische Verbreitungsmuster und der Grad an Kreuzbarkeit als weitere Kriterien herangezogen wurden. In der jüngeren Gegenwart hat die Verfügbarkeit genetischer Markersysteme Wissenschaftlern die Möglichkeit gegeben zudem genealogische Information mit einfließen zu lassen. Die Kombination dieser verschiedenen Evidenzquellen wird als integrative Taxonomie bezeichnet und ist einer der Grundpfeiler moderner Artabgrenzung. Die vorliegende Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit der integrativen Artabgrenzung der diploiden und tetraploiden Vertreter der Gattung Leucanthemum Mill. (Compositae, Anthemideae), welche einen jungen und hybridisierenden Polyploidiekomplex bildet. In diesem Zusammenhang wird eine bioinformatische Pipeline, also eine Sammlung von Methoden, Werkzeugen und Verfahren, zur Analyse taxonomischer Muster entwickelt. Im Sinne der integrativen Taxonomie werden genealogische, ökologische, geographische und morphologische Daten zusammengetragen. Diese Daten werden durch Restriction Associated DNA Sequencing (ddRADseq) loci, abiotische Nischen, räumliche Verbreitungsmuster und Blattmorphologie, respektive, repräsentiert. Die ersten beiden Studien dieser Arbeit beschäftigen sich mit der Entwicklung von GinJinn, einer Deep Learning-Software zur automatischen Erkennung und Extraktion von Strukturen aus digitalen Bildern und zeigen Beispiele für die Anwendbarkeit dieser Software. In der dritten Studie ist die integrative Artabgrenzung der diploiden Leucanthemum-Taxa basierend auf den zuvor eingeführten Evidenzquellen beschrieben, wobei für diese Zwecke neue Analysemethoden, wie Consensus Clustering, die Rekonstruktion von Blattsilhouetten und die Annäherung von Verbreitungsgebieten etabliert werden. In diesem Zusammenhang werden drei Leucanthemum Taxa vom Artniveau auf das Unterartniveau herabgestuft. Die letzte Studie dieser Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit Abgrenzung der tetraploiden Leucanthemum-Vertreter, greift dafür auf die in der dritten Studie beschriebene Methodologie zurück und führt zusätzliche ein neues Werkzeug für genealogische Artabgrenzung basierend auf Consensus Clustering ein. Im Rahmen dieser Studie wird ein neuer taxonomischer Rang für vier Leucanthemum-Taxa vorgeschlagen.
