Abstract (English)

This doctoral thesis reports on the development of efficient methods for the preparation of industrially and academically relevant monophosphorus compounds directly from elemental phosphorus, via radical-mediated hydroelementation reactions. Chapter 1 provides an overview of key recent academic reports on the organofunctionalisation of white phosphorus (P₄), highlighting direct and catalytic transformations into P₁ compounds. Chapter 2 describes the hydrostannylation of P₄, a simple and effective ‘one-pot’ method for the synthesis of a wide range of organic and inorganic monophosphorus compounds directly from P₄, mediated by the classical radical reagent tri-n-butyltin hydride (Bu₃SnH). In addition, Chapter 2 also reports the facile and efficient recycling and ultimately even catalytic use of the organotin reagent, thereby avoiding the generation of significant Sn containing waste. Chapter 3 describes the preparation of a variety of P₁ compounds directly from the bench-stable allotrope red phosphorus (Pred) following analogous hydrostannylation reactions. Chapter 4 provides comprehensive mechanistic insights into the hydrostannylation of P₄, obtained through a collaborative effort that combined DFT calculations and in situ ³¹P NMR reaction monitoring. Chapter 5 describes experimental and computational studies of the reactivity of lighter and less toxic hydrogermane and hydrosilane homologues of organotin hydrides (R₃EH, E = Ge or Si) towards P₄, which could also be employed to directly transform P4 into useful P₁ compounds, in a simple ‘one-pot’ fashion. Finally, Chapter 6 gives a summary of the results described in this thesis and provides a short outlook.

In dieser Dissertation wird über die Entwicklung effizienter Methoden zur Herstellung industriell und wissenschaftlich relevanter Monophosphorverbindungen direkt aus elementarem Phosphor durch radikalvermittelte Hydroelementierungsreaktionen berichtet. Kapitel 1 gibt einen Überblick über die wichtigsten neueren wissenschaftlichen Berichte über die Organofunktionalisierung von weißem Phosphor (P₄), wobei direkte und katalytische Umwandlungen in P1-Verbindungen hervorgehoben werden. Kapitel 2 beschreibt die Hydrostannylierung von P₄, ein einfaches und effektives Eintopfverfahren für die Synthese eines breiten Spektrums organischer und anorganischer Monophosphorverbindungen direkt aus P₄, vermittelt durch das klassische Radikalreagenz tri-n-Butylzinnhydrid (Bu₃SnH). Darüber hinaus wird in Kapitel 2 über die einfache und effiziente Wiederverwendung und letztlich sogar über die katalytische Nutzung des zinnorganischen Reagens berichtet, wodurch die Entstehung erheblicher zinnhaltiger Abfälle vermieden wird. Kapitel 3 beschreibt die Herstellung einer Vielzahl von P₁-Verbindungen direkt aus dem stabilen Allotrop roter Phosphor (Pred) nach analogen Hydrostannylierungsreaktionen. Kapitel 4 bietet umfassende mechanistische Einblicke in die Hydrostannylierung von P₄, die durch eine gemeinsame Anstrengung gewonnen wurden, bei der DFT-Berechnungen und in situ ³¹P NMR-Reaktionsüberwachung kombiniert wurden. Kapitel 5 beschreibt experimentelle und rechnerische Untersuchungen zur Reaktivität leichterer und weniger toxischer Hydrogerman- und Hydrosilan-Homologe von Organozinnhydriden (R₃EH, E = Ge oder Si) gegenüber P₄, die auch zur direkten Umwandlung von P₄ in nützliche P₁-Verbindungen in einem einfachen Eintopfverfahren eingesetzt werden könnten. In Kapitel 6 schließlich werden die in dieser Arbeit beschriebenen Ergebnisse zusammengefasst und ein kurzer Ausblick gegeben.
