Abstract (German)
In der vorliegenden Arbeit wurden Verbindungen im System Na-Tt-Q mit Tt = Si, Ge, Sn und Q = Se, Te untersucht. In der Vergangenheit wurden nur wenige Materialien in diesem System strukturell charakterisiert und die physikalischen und chemischen Eigenschaften waren noch weitgehend unbekannt. Durch ein zweistufiges Syntheseverfahren, bestehend aus mechanochemischer Homogenisierung und anschließender Umsetzung bei hohen Temperaturen, war die phasenreine Synthese sowohl von literaturbekannten als auch von bisher unbekannten Verbindungen möglich.
Die einfachsten anionischen Einheiten, die in dieser Verbindungsklasse beobachtet werden, sind isolierte TtQ₄⁴⁻ Tetraeder. Natriumselenotetrelate mit solchen isolierten TtSe₄⁴⁻ Tetraedern (Tt = Si, Ge, Sn) wurden hinsichtlich ihrer Kristallstrukturen und Natriumionenleitfähigkeiten charakterisiert. Es wurden zwei verschiedene Modifikationen von Na₄SiSe₄ beobachtet. Die Bildung beider Modifikationen aus der kugelgemahlenen Reaktionsmischung wurde durch in-situ-Hochtemperatur-Röntgenpulverdiffraktometrie untersucht. Na₄SiSe₄-cP72 kristallisiert im Strukturtyp Ba₄SiAs₄ und ist nur in einem kleinen Temperaturbereich von 350 °C bis 400 °C stabil. Bei höheren Temperaturen wandelt sich die kubische Modifikation in Na₄SiSe₄-oP36 um. Für Na₄SnSe₄ wurde ebenfalls eine neue Modifikation synthetisiert. Na₄SnSe₄-tI216 kristallisiert im Strukturtyp Na₄SnTe₄-tI216. Alle untersuchten Verbindungen zeigen eine moderate Natriumionenleitfähigkeit. Die beste Ionenleitfähigkeit wurde für Na₄GeSe₄ ermittelt.
In einem weiteren Teil der Arbeit werden die Synthese und Kristallstrukturen von zwei Modifikationen von Na₄Si₂Se₆ beschrieben. Na₄Si₂Se₆-tP24 stellt die erste Verbindung im betrachteten System dar, bei der kantenverknüpfte Tetraeder Si₂Se₆⁴⁻ Einheiten bilden. Das zweite Polymorph, Na₄Si₂Se₆-oP48, kristallisiert in einem neuen Strukturtyp mit zweier-Einfachketten aus eckenverknüpften Tetraedern. Der Phasenübergang wurde sowohl nach Anwendung von Druck (0.1 GPa) als auch nach Erhitzen beobachtet. DFT-Berechnungen zeigen, dass beide Polymorphe energetisch sehr nahe beieinander liegen und dass die Existenz weiterer Modifikationen plausibel erscheint. Na₄Si₂Se₆-oP48 weist eine moderate Na-Ionen-Leitfähigkeit in der gleichen Größenordnung wie Na₄TtSe₄ auf.
Desweiteren wurden Natriumtellurosilikate auf ihre Na-Ionen-Leitfähigkeit hin untersucht. Neben den literaturbekannten Verbindungen Na₆Si₂Te₆ und Na₈Si₄Te₁₀ wurden zwei neue Verbindungen charakterisiert. Na₄SiTe₄ und Na₁₀Si₂Te₉ stellen beide neue Strukturtypen mit isolierten SiTe₄⁴⁻Tetraedern dar. Im Fall von Na₁₀Si₂Te₉ liegen neben den Tetraedern auch isolierte Te²⁻ Anionen vor. Dieses Strukturmerkmal wurde bei anderen Alkalichalkogenotetrelaten noch nicht beobachtet, ist aber bereits aus anderen Substanzklassen, z.B. bei Argyroditen, bekannt. Die elektronischen Strukturen aller genannten Natriumtellurosilikate wurden mit DFT-Rechnungen untersucht. Alle Verbindungen zeigen ein halbleitendes Verhalten mit Bandlücken im Bereich von 2.29 eV (Na₁₀Si₂Te₉) bis 2.81 eV (Na₄SiTe₄).
Elektrochemische Impedanzspektroskopie zeigt eine moderate bis gute Natriumionenleitfähigkeit für Na₆Si₂Te₆, Na₁₀Si₂Te₉ und Na₄SiTe₄. Die Leitfähigkeiten sind um ein bis zwei Größenordnungen höher als bei den untersuchten Selenosilikaten.

In the present work compounds in the system Na-Tt-Q with Tt = Si, Ge, Sn and Q = Se, Te were investigated. In the past, few materials containing these elements were structurally characterized but physical and chemical properties were still mostly unknown. By using a two-step synthesis procedure consisting of mechanochemical homogenization followed by annealing, the phase pure synthesis of literature known compounds as well as hitherto unknown compounds was possible.
The simplest anionic units which are observed in this class of compounds are isolated TtQ₄⁴⁻ tetrahedra. Sodium selenotetrelates with such isolated TtSe₄⁴⁻ tetrahedra (Tt = Si, Ge, Sn) were characterized regarding their crystal structures and sodium ion conductivities. Two different modifications of Na₄SiSe₄ were observed. The formation of both modifications from the ball milled reaction mixture was investigated by in-situ high-temperature X-ray powder diffraction. Na₄SiSe₄-cP72 crystallizes in the Ba₄SiAs₄ structure type and is only stable in a small temperature range of 350 °C to 400 °C. At higher temperatures, the cubic modification retransforms to Na₄SiSe₄-oP36. For Na₄SnSe₄ also a new modification was synthesized. Na₄SnSe₄-tI216 crystallizes in the Na₄SnTe₄-tI216 structure type. All investigated compounds show moderate sodium ion conductivity. The best ion conductivity was determined for Na₄GeSe₄. The other compounds show slightly lower conductivities.
In a further part of the work, the synthesis and crystal structure of two modifications of Na₄Si₂Se₆ is shown. Na₄Si₂Se₆-tP24 represents the first compound in the regarded system where edge sharing tetrahedra form
Si₂Se₆⁴⁻ units. The second polymorph, Na₄Si₂Se₆-oP48, crystallizes in a new structure type with zweier single chains. The phase transition was observed after application of pressure (0.1GPa) as well as after high temperature annealing. DFT calculations reveal that both polymorphs are very close in energy and that the existence of further modifications seems plausible. Na₄Si₂Se₆-oP48 exhibits moderate Na ion conductivity in the same order of magnitude as found for Na₄TtSe₄.
Furthermore, sodium tellurosilicates were investigated regarding their Na ion conductivity. Besides the literature-known Na₆Si₂Te₆ and Na₈Si₄Te₁₀ two new compounds were characterized. Na₄SiTe₄ and Na₁₀Si₂Te₉ both represent new structure types with isolated SiTe₄⁴⁻ tetrahedra. In the case of Na₁₀Si₂Te₉, also isolated Te²⁻ anions were observed. This structural feature was not yet observed in other alkali chalcogenotetrelates, but is already known from other substance classes, e.g. from argyrodites. The electronic structures of all mentioned sodium tellurosilicates were evaluated on the basis of DFT calculations. All compounds exhibit semiconducting behavior with band
gaps in the range of 2.29 eV (Na₁₀Si₂Te₉) to 2.81 eV (Na₄SiTe₄).
Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy reveals moderate to good sodium ion conductivity for Na₆Si₂Te₆, Na₁₀Si₂Te₉ and Na₄SiTe₄. The conductivities are one to two orders of magnitudes higher than in the investigated selenosilicates.
