Abstract

The second messenger cAMP plays an important role in the regulation of renin gene expression. Nuclear receptor peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-gamma (PPAR gamma) is known to stimulate renin gene transcription acting through PPAR gamma-binding sequences in renin promoter.
