Abstract

The key step of N-glycosylation of proteins in the endoplasmic reticulum is catalyzed by the hetero-oligomeric protein complex oligosaccharyltransferase (OST). It transfers the lipid-linked core-oligosaccharide to selected Asn-X-Ser/Thrsequences of nascent polypeptide chains.
