Abstract
The generation of precision ladder polymers poses a high synthetic challenge when a regioselective and complete ladder formation is required. Conjugated, polyaromatic ladder polymers are particularly interesting because of their attractive optical and electronic properties, which can be investigated in detail using sophisticated methods of single-chain spectroscopy. Application perspectives of such ladder polymers include polymer lasers and all-optical devices based on the principle of strong light-matter coupling.
