We investigate theoretically and experimentally the resonant Raman scattering on modulation-doped, deep-etched GaAs-AlGaAs quantum dots. The observation of so called single-particle excitations (SPE) in electronic Raman scattering on GaAs-AlGaAs nanostructures has been a puzzle for a long time.
