An equation of state is presented to decribe the deformation behaviour of elastomers, which contains an energy-elastic term in addition to the usula entropy-elastic contribution to the totla force. This energy term is based on experimental findings.
In Addition to the solid-state-type contribution to the total force, the strain dependence of the modulus, as observed in the Payne effect für filled elastomers, is also taken into account. It is shown, that the proposed equation of state satisfactorily describes not only multiaxial stress but laso the thermal behaviour of filled mixtures und vulcanized polymers.
