Abstract

The ultrafast transition of an optical phonon resonance to a coupled phonon-plasmon system is studied. After 10-fs photoexcitation of i-InP, the buildup of coherent beats of the emerging hybrid modes is directly monitored via ultrabroadband THz spectroscopy.
