The focal point of this work is the religious understanding of the Quechua-communities of the region of Cochabamba in the Andes Highlands, but also the narrow relation that has this religious understanding with the politics and other aspects of the everyday life of these peoples. From a point of view, that considers the cultural reality as a dynamic process, examines this work the religious presentation and ritual practices of the indigene communities.
The Awkis-Pachamamas stand in the midpoint of these presentations. They are powers that produce life and give abundance. Moreover they are the pattern-community of the "life in the prosperity" (allin kawsay), for they lead a harmonious life together, persons and nature. Therefore its behavior forms a paradigm table (model) for the human lifestyle. Because religion are not separated and politics in the andes communities, are based most political deed upon religious traditions, that means, that the social actions are erected on Awkis model.
