In this work, metal-phosphorus chemistry was approached in the following four aspects: i) the stabilization of new tin-phosphorus ligands in the coordination sphere of transition-metal fragments; ii) the kinetic stabilization of low-coordinate tin-phosphorus compounds with a bulky terphenyl ligand; iii) the preparation of a new tris(aryloxy)amine-tantalum complex and the study of its potential for supporting phosphinidene ligands; and iv) the synthesis of oligomeric assemblies composed of a tantalum cyclo-tetraphosphorus ligand complex.
The stabilization of the experimentally unknown small molecule diphosphanyl stannylene with transition-metal fragments was investigated. Attempts were made to prepare Sn(II) phosphanyl compounds through Lewis-acid stabilization with tungstenpentacarbonyl or with a perfluorinated triphenyl borane. Such reactions led partially to proton-disproportionation and/or decomposition. However, stable tin(IV) diphosphanyl complexes were prepared with the cyclopentadienylirondicarbonyl fragment sigma-bonded to tin.
A sterically encumbering terphenyl ligand was used for the kinetic stabilization of low-coordinate tin-phosphorus compounds. In this investigation a new terphenyl-bis(silyl)phosphanyl-stannylene compound was prepared, in which the tin atom possesses a coordination number of 2. The reactivity of this compound was marked by Sn-P bond cleavage and C-Sn bond cleavage. The reactions of a terphenyl-chloro-stannylene with primary lithiated phosphanide reagents led to the spectroscopic observation of further low-coordinate tin-phosphorus species. In reactions of phoshanide reagents with terphenyl-Sn(IV) starting materials, reduction of the tin center was observed, and no tin-phosphorus bond formation occurred.
Attempts to prepare low-coordinate tantalum-phosphorus complexes were undertaken. A new tris(aryloxy)amin-tantalumdichloride was prepared, and its reaction with an excess of lithium bis(trimethylsilyl)phosphanide led only to monosubstitution of the chloride ligands. The resulting mono-phosphanyl tantalum complex was unstable at room temperature, and attempts to abstract the second chloride at low temperature were unsuccessful.
The possibility was synthesizing supramolecular assemblies based on a transition-metal supported cyclo-tetraphosphorus unit was investigated. Thus, reaction of a di-tert-butylcyclopentadienyltantalumdicarbonyl-cyclo-tetraphosphorus complex with coppper(I)chloride produced a spherical molecule consisting of 6 tantalum-cyclo-tetraphosphorus units and 8 copper(I)chloride units. The core of this molecule consists of 32 inorganic atoms (only P and Cu) and possesses distorted octahedral symmetry. The outside diameter is 2.19 nm, and the inner cavity possesses dimensions of 0.44 nm (from P to P) and 0.60 nm (from Cu to Cu). The synthesis of the copper(I)bromide analogue was successful, and the first evidence for synthesis of the copper(I)iodide analogue was obtained.

In dieser Arbeit wurde die Metall-Phosphor-Chemie in den folgenden vier Aspekten behandelt: i) die Stabilisierung neuer Zinn-Phosphor-Liganden mit Übergangsmetallfragmenten; ii) die kinetische Stabilisierung von niedrigkoordinierten Zinn-Phosphor-Verbindungen mit einem sterisch anspruchsvollen Terphenyl-Liganden; iii) die Darstellung eines neuen Tris(aryloxy)amintantal-Komplexes; und iv)die Synthese oligomerischer Aggregate bestehend aus einem Tantal-cyclo-Tetraphosphor-Komplex.
Die Stabilisierung des experimentell unbekannten Moleküls Diphosphanyl-Stannylen mit Übergangsmetallfragmenten wurde untersucht. Versuche, Sn(II)-Phosphanyl-Verbindungen durch Lewis-Säure-Stabilisierung mit Wolframpentacarbonyl oder Tris(perfluorphenyl)boran darzustellen, wurden durchgeführt. Diese Reaktionen führten teilweise zur Proton-Symmetrisierung bzw. zur Zersetzung. Stabile Zinn(IV)-Diphosphanyl-Komplexe konnten jedoch mit dem Cyclopentadienyleisendicarbonyl-Fragment durch Sigma-Bindungen an Zinn stabilisiert werden.
Ein sterisch anspruchsvoller Terphenyl-Ligand wurde zur kinetischen Stabilisierung niedrigkoordinierter Zinn-Phosphor-Verbindungen eingesetzt. In dieser Arbeit wurde eine neue Terphenyl-bis(silyl)phosphanylstannylen-Verbindung dargestellt, wobei das Zinn-Atom eine Koordinationszahl von 2 besitzt. Die Reaktivität dieser Verbindung wurde von Sn-P Abspaltung und C-Sn Abspaltung geprägt. Reaktionen eines Terphenyl-chloro-stannylens mit primären Lithium Phosphanid-Reagenzen führten zur spektroskopischen Beobachtung von weiteren niedrigkoordinierten Zinn-Phosphor Spezies. In Reaktionen von Phosphanid-Reagenzen mit Terphenyl-Sn(IV)-Ausgangsverbindungen wurde Reduktion des Zinnzentrums beobachtet, und keine neue Zinn-Phosphor-Bindung konnte dabei nachgewiesen werden.
Versuche zur Darstellung niedrigkoordinierter Tantal-Phosphor-Komplexe wurden untersucht. Ein neuer Tris(aryloxy)amintantaldichlorid-Komplex wurde dargestellt, und die Folgereaktionen mit einem Überschuss an Lithium Bis(trimethylsilyl)phosphanid führte lediglich zur Monosubtitution der Chlorid-Liganden. Der resultierende Mono-Phosphanyl-Tantal-Komplex ist bei Raumtemperatur unstabil, und Versuche, den zweiten Chlorid-Liganden bei Tieftemperatur zu abstrahieren, gelangen nicht.
Die Möglichkeit, supramolekulare Aggregate auf Basis von einer Übergangsmetall-cyclo-Tetraphosphor-Einheit darzustellen, wurde untersucht. Somit wurde die Umsetzung von einem Di-tert-Butylcyclopentadienyltantaldicarbonyl-cyclo-Tetraphosphor-Komplex mit Kupfer(I)chlorid durchgeführt, wobei ein sphärisches Molekül bestehend aus 6 Tantal-cyclo-tetraphosphor-Einheiten und 8 Kupfer(I)chlorid-Einheiten isoliert wurde. Das Kerngerüst des Moleküls besteht aus 32 anorganischen Atomen (ausschließlich P und Cu) und weist verzerrt oktaedrische Symmetrie auf. Der Außendurchmesser beträgt 2,19 nm, und der Innendurchmesser beträgt 0,44 nm (bezogen auf P) bzw. 0,60 nm (bezogen auf Cu). Die erfolgreichen Synthesen des Kupfer(I)bromid- bzw. des Kupfer(I)jodid-Analogs wurden ebenfalls nachgewiesen.
