In der vorliegenden Arbeit werden die Ergebnisse der an Phosphorchalkogenid-Molekülverbindungen durchgeführten strukturchemischen Untersuchungen vorgestellt und diskutiert.

Der Hauptteil dieser Arbeit befaßt sich dabei mit Adduktverbindungen bestehend aus Phosphor-Schwefel-, Phosphor-Selen-Käfigen bzw. Triphenylhosphan(-sulfid)-Molekülen und Niob(V)- bzw. Tantal(V)-pentahalogenid-Einheiten.
Die Phosphorchalkogenid-Adduktmoleküle sind aus P4Chx-Einheiten aufgebaut (Ch = S, Se; x = 4 bis 6), welche, sofern vorhanden, über terminale Chalkogenatome oder aber über Phosphoratome, die an ein weiteres Phosphoratom gebunden sind, die Metallatome von MX5-Einheiten (M = Nb, Ta; X = Cl, Br) koordinieren. Dabei bleibt die in den entsprechenden binären Phosphorchalkogeniden vorzufindende Konstitution des entsprechenden Käfigs jeweils erhalten. Allerdings gehen mit der Koordination an das Metallhalogenid geringfügige Veränderungen der Bindungslängen und Winkel einher, die anhand von Raman- und NMR-spektroskopischen Daten nachvollziehbar sind. Quantenchemische ab initio Rechnungen auf LMP2-Niveau bestätigen die experimentell gefundenen Tendenzen der Veränderungen innerhalb der Phosphorchalkogenidkäfige. Weiterhin weisen die Rechnungen darauf hin, daß die zwischen den Adduktteilen ausgebildeten kovalenten Bindungen recht schwach sind und der hauptsächliche Gewinn an Bindungsenergie durch van der Waals-Wechselwirkungen zwischen den Adduktteilen erzielt wird.
Das Phosphorsulfid P4S10 bildet dagegen keine Adduktverbindungen, sondern Co-Kristallisate (M2Cl10)(P4S10)2 mit den Metallhalogeniden aus, wobei diese hierin in dimerer Form als Nb2Cl10 bzw. Ta2Cl10 vorliegen.

An die Bildung von Addukten aus Phosphorchalkogeniden und Übergangsmetallhalogeniden können sich weitere Reaktionen wie Insertions- und Fragmentierungsreaktionen anschließen. Die quaternären Verbindungen [TaCl4][PS2Cl2] und [(TiCl2)(1,3-P2S8)]2 wurden synthetisiert und strukturell charakterisiert, welche als Folgeprodukte einer solchen Fragmentierung von Phosphorchalkogeniden aufgefaßt werden können. Die darin enthaltenen Phosphorsulfidfrag-mente sind bereits als Anionen PS2Cl2� und 1,3-P2S82� aus anderen Verbindungen bekannt.

Die durchgeführten Untersuchungen erweitern die Kenntnisse zum Reaktionsverhalten von Phosphorchalkogeniden gegenüber Übergangsmetallhalogeniden und zu den Koordinations-möglichkeiten von P4Chx-Käfigen; bisher beschränkten sie sich bei dieser Verbindungsgruppe weitgehend auf Koordinationsverbindungen von P4Ch3-Molekülen.

Darüber hinaus auch konnten auf dem Gebiet der Phosphorchalkogenide und der Derivate dieser Verbindungsgruppe Beiträge geleistet werden. So wurden bei den Synthesen von Edukten für die Adduktdarstellung die Verbindungen �alpha-P4Se3Br2� und �P4S9-I� erhalten, die bereits bekannt waren, bislang aber nur NMR-spektroskopisch charakterisiert bzw. als fehlgeordnet beschrieben wurden. Die Kristallstrukturen und Raman-Spektren dieser Molekülverbindungen werden in der vorliegenden Arbeit vorgestellt.

Translation of the abstract (English)

In this thesis the results of structure chemical investigations on molecular phosphorus chalcogenide compounds are presented and discussed.

The main part of this work is concerned with adduct compounds consisting of phosphorus-sulphur, phosphorus-selenium cages or triphenylphosphane(sulphide) molecules resp. with niobium(V) and tantalum(V) pentahalide units.
The phosphorus chalcogenide adduct molecules are composed of P4Chx units (Ch = S, Se; x = 4 bis 6) which coordinate metal atoms of MX5 units (M = Nb, Ta; X = Cl, Br) via a terminal sulphur atom, if present, or via phosphorus atoms connected to another phosphorus atom. The constitution of these cages is not changed upon coordination. However, the coordination of the metal halide involves small changes in bond lengths and angles comprehensible by means of Raman and NMR spectroscopic data. Quantum chemical ab initio calculations performed at the LMP2 level of theory confirm the trends of these changes within the phosphorus chalcogenide cages found experimentally. Further on, the calculations indicate a rather weak covalent bonding between the adduct parts, and the major gain in binding energy is achieved by van der Waals interactions.
In contrast, the phosphorus sulphide P4S10 does not form adduct compounds but co-crystals (M2Cl10)(P4S10)2 with the metal halides in the dimeric Nb2Cl10 and Ta2Cl10 form resp.

Further reactions such as insertion and fragmentation reactions can follow the adduct formation between phosphorus chalcogenides and transition metal halides. The quaternary compounds [TaCl4][PS2Cl2] and [(TiCl2)(1,3-P2S8)]2 which can be understood as subsequent products of such fragmentation of phosphorus chalcogenides were synthesised and structurally characterised. The anions PS2Cl2� and 1,3-P2S82� existing therein are known from other compounds.

The investigations performed expand the knowledge about the reactions between phosphorus chalcogenides and transition metal halides and about the coordination modes of P4Chx cages. Concerning this group of compounds, they were mainly restricted to coordination compounds of P4Ch3 molecules so far.

In addition, contributions could be made on the field of phosphorus chalcogenides and their derivatives. On synthesising starting compounds for the adduct synthesis the compounds �alpha-P4Se3Br2� and �P4S9-I� were obtained which were to date only characterised by NMR spectroscopy or described as disordered. The crystal structures and Raman spectra of these molecule compounds are presented in the given thesis.
