Zusammenfassung
Six novel chromanone acids were isolated from the bark of Calophyllum brasiliense Cambess. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of 1D and 2D NMR expts., as well as mass spectrometry. All compds. showed moderate to strong antibacterial activity against Bacillus cereus and Staphylococcus epidermidis, with two of them being most active. None of the compds. were cytotoxic against KB, Jurkat T, and myosarcoma cancer cells used in concns. up to 20 micro g/mL.
