cf. CA 53, 2127h (details of prepn.). In the presence of Al, monomeric benzylalkylamines are obtained by treating 1 mole Schiff base with 280 moles EtOH. Dimeric diphenylethylenediamines are formed if the proportion is 1:10. The reaction mechanism is discussed. (Preliminary communication).
