Soluble nucleotides in developing cotton hair

Soluble nucleotides were studied during primary and secondary wall formation of growing cotton hairs. UDPG was the major component at both stages of growth. No guanine nucleotides could be detected. The possible role of the sugar nucleotides in the biosynthesis of polysaccharides is discussed.
